Amelia--Age 4

Last Sunday was Amelia's Fourth Birthday!!! We celebrated with a little cake and some balloons. She had a great time. She wore her new birthday dress from Gigi to Church, and made sure to tell everyone it was her birthday.

Nana Paulla sent a new monkey to replace the extra special monkey lost on our move to Austin. The next morning, Amelia had figured out a way to carry the monkey and the balloons, leaving her hands free to do whatever else she needs to do.

Amelia continues to be the center of attention of our family. In Primary, anytime they sing "I am a child of God", Amelia jumps up and has to help the chorister lead the song. Her latest thing has been whispering in your ear. She loves to tell you all kinds of things. She is starting to like her role as a big sister, and she makes sure to tell Aliza what to do. In fact, she will tell anyone what to do. She is growing up way too fast!

We sure love having Amelia as part of our family. She makes us smile every day!!!

Spring!

For the last couple of years, spring has been a season lasting a couple of weeks...sometime in June. The passing of the actual first day of spring only meant that it was less likely (but still highly probable) that it would snow.

So, imagine my surprise when I discovered that spring is an actual season, and that it does happen in March!!! The weather this week has been absolutely beautiful. It was 70 today. Tomorrow, we are going to take the girls to a baseball game. I think that Amelia is already getting a tan! A couple of weeks ago, Aliza actually got a little pink herself.

I have been on Spring "Break" this week, and I can't believe that it is already almost over. I had big intentions of getting all kinds of things done this week...now I am wondering where all that time went.

update

There is so little going on I could not think of a good title. Life has been moving on, there is nothing really to report.
Ummm lets think, Aliza is almost pulled herself up. Amelia well she is three, excited to be four. Wondering when her first hair cut is going to be. We have been working on her habit of biting off her finger nails. We are almost there she is finally letting them go.(Cough, cough toys cough). Yes the old, toys for something the parents want ploy.
The girls and I (Jason) are going to Sandpoint for the weekend. I am going to check of the house and getting some new windows ordered to keep our renters happy. I guess they would like to open some windows, phep! overrated. They are fantastic renters I couldn't ask for better. I can't lose them.
Oh and I am going to the dunes with the boys. This should be alot of fun. This is going to be a good man-richment.
What else, Taeya is studying and working alot I am very proud of her. She is for sure the fish out of the water. She seems to be understanding the schooling better or finder her place, it just seem better.
I am still at UPS and doing good. I am looking forward to spring which is upon us. Mostly the spring flower of Texas. I love the blue bonnets, yes I said love. That is about it, I need a nap so I am signing off.

Quote of the week

I must start with conversation that leads up to the quote. While at Wal-Mart at the check out stand with the girls.

Amelia: Ummm dad?

dad: Yes Amelia.

Ameila: Are we buying chocolate today?

dad: Nooo I don't think so, why?

Amelia: I think we should because chocolate is good for you a little bit each day.

Dad: You got me there.
Love you Amelia you make me laugh everyday.

Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel

So, the last few days of school have not been too great. I was working with a professor on a project, and I gave up most of my weekend to get data together only to have pretty much nothing of what I did actually used. Needless to say, I was pretty frustrated. This frustration led me to question why I am here and to enter in to the realm of self-pitty. Why couldn't I have an easier job to do than to leave my family, our friends, our dog, our house (really our dog's house now), and a good paying job to go back to school and feel stupid pretty much every single day. I spend most of my time studying, missing out on time with my family, and I am not really sure that the studying is getting me any further along. And my thoughts go on and on.
Then, I read this talk by Elder Perry tonight, and I realized that I really have things pretty easy. I have my husband and my girls. We have a good place to live and food to eat. We still have family and friends that support us. And, even though I feel pretty stupid, I have hope that if I keep working hard, I will be smarter tomorrow than I am today (maybe, if I could remember anything that I am reading).

Aliza

Not much going on, but little Aliza has turned 9 months. Thanks for being apart of our family.

She has finally decided to crawl too.

This picture came out funny, she is still cute.
